Two types of business accounts
Resident account for your Serbian company
Once your Serbian d.o.o. is registered, it needs a dinar account for local payments and taxes, and usually a foreign currency account for international business. We prepare the bank file right after registration so you can start invoicing quickly.
Non-resident account for a foreign company
Already have a company in the UAE, the UK, Cyprus or elsewhere? A foreign company can open a non-resident account in a Serbian bank, which gives you a European banking relationship and IBAN in a country outside the EU's automatic CRS reporting framework. See Serbia and CRS.
What the bank will ask for
- Company documents: registration excerpt, articles, list of directors and shareholders, apostilled and translated for foreign companies
- Identification of the directors and ultimate beneficial owners
- A clear description of the business, its clients, suppliers and expected transaction volumes
- Source of funds and, where relevant, source of wealth
How we help
- Pre-check. We review your structure and business model and tell you honestly which banks are realistic.
- File preparation. We collect, translate and organise the documents and write a business profile the bank's compliance team can follow.
- Appointment. We book the meeting and attend with you. Most banks need one visit by the legal representative.
- Activation. We help with online banking setup, cards and your first international transfers.
Banks decide independently, and citizens or companies from certain jurisdictions face enhanced checks. We will always tell you upfront if we see a problem, rather than take a fee for an application that is unlikely to succeed.
Need a personal account too? See personal bank accounts for non-residents.
